How it all Started

It all started as a dream- to undertake a journey on a boat sailing the Amazon River, doing Ayahuasca ceremonies in the virgin rainforest under the sky in the traditional Shipibo way, with the guidance of a multitude of Shipibo women maestras enveloping us in their feminine grandmother energy instead of the usual single masculine guidance of an Ayahuasquero.

The dream was to gather friends that were walking a similar spiritual path and spend the days practicing yoga, having philosophical discussions and analyzing our experiences of the night to assist each other in connecting with the grandmother. To travel deep into the bosom of Mother Earth in its purest manifestation, Amazonia, the lung of the Earth. It was to be a Mythic Voyage indeed, an amazing internal and external voyage.

It proved to be too good to keep it for ourselves so we decided to open and share with whoever really wanted to be there. It was supposed to be a one time affair but it turned out to be so extraordinary, so magical and special that there had to be another one, and then another. Every Mythic Voyage reached new heights and presented new challenges, new messages and new insights and people’s lives were changing, the Voyage mutating us into new, happy beings.

In the process a deep connection grew between the Argonauts of the Voyage and the Shipibo healers  until an entire bridge was built between the ancient traditions and western cultures. New Argonauts could enter quickly and easily into the deepest parts of their souls, standing on top of the collective knowledge accrued during past Voyages and using the maps  of the soul and the guiding messages of light gained in the past. We learned about the power of intention, we were taught by the Grandmother how to offer tools for safe travel and the Voyages were every time a step above and more powerful than the previous ones.

The Mythic Voyage was a non-profit affair, it was not a business and many times its costs outweighed the Argonauts’ participation, especially since it was always open to receiving people who had no funds or could offer only a fraction of the costs.

After the sixth, it was evident that the Mythic Voyage was too precious to stop; many Argonauts were coming a second, third or fourth time, bringing their brothers, sisters, lovers, friends. The Voyage had to find a sustainable home; a place to provide a basis to keep offering these precious gifts. In this Age where so many people were taking Ayahuasca and other medicine plants around the world under dubious circumstances with no understanding of the process, no real support and oftentimes with dubious quality medicine, it was imperative that places where people could experience the gifts with proper support and guidance existed. A place where the gifts of the Mythic Voyage could be passed on to more and more people became not only an inspiring vision but also a necessity.
